“The beauty of life is in small details, not in big events.”

Jim Jarmusch

Bubbles are amazing in the way that they form and remain intact until the surface tension eventually breaks and they disperse. A bubble of gas forms because it is at a lower energy state than its surrounding liquid or gas, called nucleation.

The abstraction and randomness of patterns is fascinating and presents a never-ending photographic opportunity. And what makes them more visible in a liquid is due to the higher refraction of light at the interface between the bubble and its surrounding liquid. So with the right lighting, the bubbles can stand out significantly and beautifully against the background.
